Company History

McMillan Transport is successful because of its people.

The company was started by Dan & Lyn McMillan in 1979 as a driving team hauling beef. Over the years the company grew by adding quality drivers who knew the industry, and together McMillan grew into a highly reliable long-haul trailer load carrier.

By 1995 the company had grown to 14 trucks, so a new first class facility was built on Abby Rd in Manchester, NH. The facility included a state of the art maintenance facility with two extra-long maintenance bays that could service an entire tractor and trailer truck indoors.

On June 22nd, 2011, exactly 30 years to the day the company was first incorporated, Scott Law purchased the business from Dan & Lyn.

Scott's passion for trucking comes from growing up and working in his family's transportation businesses in Nashua, NH. As a 5th generation Law to work for the family transportation businesses, he saw the opportunity to buy McMillan as a way to add long-haul trailer load services to the Law Family Companies range of services.

Other Law transportation companies include Law Motor Freight (regional TL) & Law Warehouses (Warehouse & Distribution) both of Nashua, NH, and BSP Trans (regional LTL & Air Freight) of Londonderry, NH.

In 2014 Scott moved the company to Nashua, NH to the same building the Law Family Companies were in to be closer to the family's operation where resources could be better shared. Then in April 2016 McMillan moved with Law Motor Freight and Law Warehouses to a state of the art 500,000 square foot distribution center in Merrimack, NH.

No matter the year, ownership, or location, the core success of the company is because of its employees. The McMillan team is a family based company that succeeds because of employee effort.
